California Air Charter (CAL AIR) was founded as Kesterson, Inc., April 1, 1946. CAL AIR held and holds US Civil Aeronautics Board Letter of Registration # 403 as a non-certificated Irregular Air Carrier issued July 17, 1947. Cal Air was one of a group of independent Burbank, California based airlines for which the US Civil Aeronautics Board coined the term "The Bastards of Burbank."
